For the past 5 years I’ve been pleased to create original artwork to benefit http://www.ctaidscoalition.org/. Each year they hold an Art for AIDS auction/exhibit at artspace in Hartford, CT. Local artists sign up to donate 1 or more canvas creations and are able to exhibit their work as well. On the night of the show, ticket holders are able to walk the “gauntlet” of fabulous original work and choose a painting! The music, food and amazing talent always make this a night to remember.
This year I knew I wanted to create some funky fashion pieces and since I’m so stuck in the 60’s I decided to create a pair of glamour gals with a vintage feel. I called these my “Primas”, they are 12″ x 12″ in acrylic and Sharpie marker and each went to a good home. They’ve proven so popular, in fact, that I might recreate and have prints made. (I actually didn’t want to give them up!)
I don’t usually use wed media, so this was a great experience and creating them has opened up a new fashion canvas outlet for me. 🙂
